It is 2012, can you believe it? It’s the end of a year and the beginning of a new one. A new start!
Are you glad to see the back of 2011?
Are you anxious to step into 2012?
Perhaps, stepping into the unknown frightens you; Are you anxious? Do you like holding on to the past? Do you find it difficult to let go and forgive?
Maybe, a new year always excites you, a new start with fresh adventures and challenges?
What did you achieve last year? Initially, it’s easy to say, ‘Nothing’, but I encourage you to think about it, when I did, I discovered I’d gained a promotion at work, made some wonderful new friends, moved house and dealt with quite a few issues.
What challenges did you face last year? Maybe, you’re thinking 'I didn’t achieve anything really'……. Well, you might of potty trained your little one, moved house like me, given birth, got married and so much more. In today’s world unless our achievements are up in lights or in the headlines, we can feel like failures. Sometimes getting out of
our beds and pyjamas can be one of our biggest achievements.
New Years ‘Resolutions’; Do you make them? Do you have a huge long list of everything you don’t like about yourself and want to change?
Change the way we look by starting a diet, change our finances by getting a new job or promotion or change the way you see yourself/life or the way others see you. Sometimes our lists are full of things that are impossible for us to change. Is your list made up of the impossible?
When we do something for the first time or something we’ve already failed at before we need courage, COURAGE with capital letters. We’ve watched our kids learn to walk haven’t we? They wobble, fall down a lot, cry in frustration but they get back up and try keep trying. Our babies saw our outstretched arms and heard our loving voice calling them and
once they found their feet they were off and haven’t looked back since. It takes courage to do this.
Courage is a quality you grow into. So, if you’re stepping out into the unknown and have a desire to change something or stop something this year; just remember YOU CAN DO IT!! We can also get courage from spending time with God and asking Him. He constantly says with His loving voice ‘You can do it, I’m with you’. Help is a prayer away.
SO GO FOR IT IN 2012!!!
The Bible says….That with strength from Jesus you can do all things. Phillipians 4:13
YOU ARE SPECIAL, YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE WORTH IT!
Good post. Thanks for the reminder that I did accomplish much last year. I didn't think so, certainly nothing "big". But, I did get out of bed every day, and some days that was a big accomplishment for me. Thanks for reminding me those days, and the fact there were fewer of them, were BIG accomplishments. ~Nita
