I suppose it all depends on what beauty means to you and what you perceive as beautiful. What is beauty? The dictionary says beautiful means having qualities that delight the senses, especially the sense of sight and a combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense.

Who determines how beautiful we are?

Well,” Hollywood” & “Hello” magazine say it’s ‘Perfection’….The size zero figure, perfect skin, the white veneered smile, a wrinkleless face, filled lips, a lipo-sucked body and an enhanced
bust. Sadly, most of these images are air brushed so the perfect are not even perfect. The pressure these images put on us and our children are immense.  Do we really need another reason not to be happy with ourselves? It’s become the day of the crash diet and boot camp.

I believe beauty is not just on your face or in your wardrobe but it’s found in acts of kindness, kind words, it can also be found in a smile, your smile. Beauty is the combination of all the qualities of a person, what do you think? Beauty comes from within. Is your heart beautiful? Do you have beautiful qualities? If you looked inside your heart,what would you see? Do you have ugly thoughts? I know YOU are beautiful whatever opinion you have or whatever anyone tells you, because YOU are made in the image of God.

Genesis 1: 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female hecreated them.

Beauty seeps out of the heart. Before I met Jesus my heart was very ugly, not pleasing to the eye!! When I asked Jesus to come into my life, I experienced His forgiveness He wiped away my sin and I received some major surgery on my heart.

God is my consultant and He transforms my heart daily.

Do you need heart surgery?

What seeps out of your heart bitterness, resentment hatred, pride, unforgiveness, and pain?

We can so easily judge others by the way they look, Do you judge a book by it’s cover?

So how can we be beautiful, if by the eyes of Hollywood & Hello, when our teeth are slightly discoloured and wonky, if our skin is a bit stretchy and the wrong shade and those size 12’s are a way too tight? Or if your motivation for certain things isn’t so pretty. Stop and think, you can stop and change. We need to stop checking out plastic surgeons and consult The Master Surgeon. Hey, it doesn’t require a credit card and won’t leave you in debt!! He’s already paid the price. God sent His son, Jesus to die so are hearts can be cleansed
and healed. God made my heart beautiful. He can make your heart beautiful too, just ask Him. Beauty comes from within…..YOU are beautiful!

1 Peter 3: 4-5 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewellery or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
