Are you tired?

The dictionary says tiredness is being drained of strength and energy, fatigued often to the point of exhaustion.

Fatigue means a temporary loss of strength and energy resulting from hard physical or mental work.
Are you tired?
Tiredness affects all of us in one way or another in our everyday lives. I can remember
during the very early stages of my pregnancies, on all three of my children, I became so tired I couldn’t keep my eyes open, it was an indescribable exhaustion.Thank goodness it was a season. As I don’t function at my best when I’m tired,I can be a little snappy and vulnerable. Don’t tell my husband I’ve admitted it though!
Do you function at your best when you’re tired?
Have you ever woken up tired? Not just tired but absolutely exhausted!! I have more often than I can count. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a very common feeling for mothers and parents, especially when we are juggling families, homes and jobs. Sadly, we can often get used to being permanently worn out and totally wrecked.
Don’t despair, you’re not alone!! It’s OK to feel like this, we are not ‘Superman’ or ‘Wonder Woman’, as it’s our circumstances; perhaps it’s playing musical beds at night, when your little one jumps in, you jump out, you find yourself hanging off the edge of the bed due to the 6 kids and or dogs squashed in the middle, poorly kids or partner coughing all night, a partner who snores, even though, I’m not mentioning any names. Oh!  We can’t
forget the baby that’s constantly attached to you feeding all night. Oh the joys!! Perhaps, your mind is racing with the anxiety of trying to balance finances, trying to keep a roof over your family’s heads. It’s no wonder the night seems to last forever and your running out of match sticks!

I’ve kept YSL going by using their ‘Touché Elat’ it works a treat!!

The time to be concerned is when we are tired of life, as it can get tough at times and I know
that tiredness causes us to see ourselves and our lives through very different eyes.
What eyes are you looking through today?

If you are tired and have no hope there is an answer.

So if you find yourself dozing off just before the school run or you just want to run away!! Take life a day at a time, hour by hour, season by season. You will get to the other side, I did, Jesus gives me the strength each day to cope with every challenge life throws at me. Be kind to yourself and accept that offer of help, it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. YOU HAVE NOT FAILED. Talk to a trusted friend, book a babysitter and get a change of scenery. Keep up the good work; you’re doing a fab job!!  Youcan do it.

Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11: 28.

YOU ARE LOVED, SPECIAL AND WORTH IT........XX

  1. It's so amazing you posted this today...because I was convicted earlier today to "rest" in Jesus. I'm slowing down my pace and looking for more opportunities to spend with Him. Thanks for the post- good job!

I have 3 growing and demanding boys and am permenantly exhausted... So this was a very timely reminder that I don't have to do it all in my own strength. I love that verse, and I SO LOVE JESUS!!
