Would you like to read my mail?

18 years ago today I received a letter, it read like this:
My Child.....

You may not know me, but I know everything about you. I know when you sit down and when you
rise up. I am familiar with all your ways, even the very hairs on your head are numbered. For you were made in my image. In me you live and move and have your being. For you are my offspring, I knew you before you were conceived and I chose you when I planned creation. You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book. I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. I knit you together in your mother’s womb and brought you forth on the day you were born.

I have been misrepresented by those who don’t know me. I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love and it is my desire to lavish my love on you, simply because you are my child and I am your Father. I offer you more than your earthly father ever could, for I am the perfect father. Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand. For I am your provider and I meet all your needs, my plan for your future has always been filled with hope because I love you with an everlasting love. My thoughts towards you are countless as the sand on the seashore and I rejoice over you with singing. I will never stop doing good to you, for you are my treasured possession. I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul and I want to show you great and marvellous things. If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart for it is I who gave you those desires.

I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine for I am your greatest encourager. I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles, when you are broken hearted I am close to you, as a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart. One day I will wipe every tear from your eyes and I’ll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth. I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus, for in Jesus, my love for you is revealed. He is the exact representation of my being, He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you and to tell you that I am not counting your sins. Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled, His death
was the ultimate expression of my love for you. If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you received me and nothing will ever separate you from my love again.
Come home and I’ll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. I have always been your Father, and will always be your Father.

My question is............. will you be my child?  I am waiting for you....

Love Your Dad, Almighty God. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

18 years ago today I responding to every promise in this letter and became a child of God, what about you?

If you want to respond all you have to do is say this prayer from your heart.

Lord Jesus,

I am a sinner. But I believe that you died upon the cross for me. That you shed your precious blood for the forgiveness of my sin. And I believe that on the third day, you rose from the dead, and went to Heaven to prepare a place for me.

I accept you now as my Saviour, my Lord, my God, my friend. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and set me free from my sin. And, because you are my Saviour, Jesus, "I shall not die, but have everlasting life".
Thank you Jesus!

If you prayed this prayer and meant it please let me know.... I am praying for you.xx

The gift that money cant buy

Christmas is rapidly approaching and there’s so much to do and so little time!
Cards to write and post, Christmas decs to find and put up, gifts to buy, wrap and post, house to clean, old toys to get rid of, children’s concerts to watch the list is endless.....

How are you doing with your Christmas shopping, have you started, are you all finished or are you still struggling with the fact that it’s nearly the middle of December?

I have the ability to write a list at anytime for absolutely anything and everything. It’s a very special talent!!  At this time of year whether you’re a list
writer or not you’d have to agree, that making a list can save you time, money
and head work. Who we need to buy for, what we need to buy and where we can get them at the best price. It can be a nightmare!!  Anything that can relieve stress is a winner.

Everywhere we look there are sales, offers and deals; (Buy one get one free, buy one get one half price and 50% off) gifts for him, gifts for her, gifts for them and gifts for us. Whether we are watching T.V., reading a newspaper or walking through a store, Gifts! Gifts! Gifts!

What’s on your Christmas list this year? Slippers; the cosy fluffy booties, perfume; your favourite but expensive one, new undies; the ones you wouldn’t be embarrassed to hang on your washing line, DVD; the latest chick flick or action thriller or a one ticket to somewhere far away? It is always lovely to have something special under the tree.

Do you buy gifts because of an obligation, to repay the giver, to keep up with the Jones’ or because you love the recipient?

Are you a thoughtful shopper or do you grab the first thing you see? What’s a thoughtful gift? A gift that meets a need, face cream because they’ve mentioned they’ve run out? A gift that’s a treat; because they deserve something special? A gift that spoils; something they’d love that they would never buy themselves.

The Christmas gift giving tradition started over 2000 years ago when 3 wise men brought gifts to Jesus; Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh and each one of those gifts have a significant meaning. Do your gifts have meaning?  There is nothing worse than giving a present and knowing that it will go straight into a drawer. Do you
throw your gifts into a drawer? I love buying presents that will be loved and
treasured. What kind of a shopper are you?

More important than the gifts is the act of giving, giving with pure motives, with a generous heart, unselfishly and meaningfully. 18 years ago on the 19th December I gave and received a gift, it was an early Christmas present. An extremely thoughtful gift, I received the gift of everlasting life in the form of forgiveness and love by giving Jesus my sad/lonely/hurting heart. You wouldn’t get that from a secret Santa!!

We all know the Nativity story well Mary, Joseph went to Bethlehem, where Mary gave birth to a baby, who they called Jesus, in a stable, who is the saviour of the world.

God loves YOU! He loves YOU so much that He sent Jesus into the world. He is God’s gift to us to YOU, today and everyday you have the opportunity to receive the gift of everlasting life. So if you’re still umming and arring about what you need this Christmas choose Jesus. He won’t be a gift you’ll be returning in January. He is for life not just for Christmas.
What will you do with His gift this Christmas? The gift that money can’t buy!!

The Bible says; John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever (YOU) believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

YOU ARE LOVED, SPECIAL AND WORTH IT...xx
